Plainprice privacy policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Plainprice ("the app") is a Shopify app operated by Fernando Suarez ("we"). It shows a store's delivery charges next to the prices in that store's theme. This policy explains what the app processes when a merchant installs it.
What we process
When you install Plainprice on your Shopify store, the app accesses, through Shopify's APIs, only what it needs:
- Store identifiers: your myshopify domain, Shopify's IDs for your store and for the app installation, your store currency and your store's country.
- Shipping settings (read_shipping): the names, prices and conditions of the delivery rates in your shipping profiles, used to write the delivery note.
- Theme settings (read_themes): your published theme's
config/settings_data.jsonandtemplates/product.json, read only to show whether the Plainprice app embed and block are switched on. - Access tokens: the offline access and refresh tokens Shopify issues to the app, used to call Shopify's APIs for your store.
- Your Plainprice settings: wording, placement and style choices you make in the app.
- Plan status: whether your store has a Plainprice subscription, read from Shopify.
What we do not process
- No customer data. The app never requests or stores information about your customers or their orders.
- No shopper tracking. The notes are rendered by Shopify from your store's data; the storefront script sets no cookies, stores nothing in the browser and sends no requests to our servers.
- No payment details. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify.
- We don't sell data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
Why we may process it (legal basis)
We are based in Spain, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to us.
- Store data, your settings and access tokens: we process these to provide the app you installed. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you, the merchant (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Server logs: we keep these to protect the service and to find and fix faults. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in security and troubleshooting (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Where data is stored
App data is stored with our hosting provider, Fly.io, in its Sydney (Australia) region. Fly.io also keeps short-lived server logs (request paths and your store's myshopify domain) for troubleshooting. Shopify processes store data under its own privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify stops showing the app's notes in your store straight away, and we delete the app's access tokens. We keep your settings for 48 hours in case you reinstall.
- Shopify then sends a
shop/redactrequest and we permanently delete all data held for your store. - You can ask us to delete your data at any time using the contact below.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold for your store, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Ours is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD), at www.aepd.es. You can also contact the authority of the country where you live or work.
